New businesses bring new people and new people transform a neighborhood. That’s the premise behind the latest video by the Teen Producers, a a group of youth filmmakers at the Media Arts Center<\/a>. Their piece centers on El Cajon Boulevard near 30th Street in North Park, which, for the past couple decades, has been plagued by crime and neglect. Many deemed it an undesirable area to open and visit businesses. <\/p>\n

But after opening it’s Digital Gym facility about two years ago, the Media Arts Center has seen a transformation among the once abandoned and neglected storefronts. One by one, new businesses began to fill the empty storefronts, bringing foot traffic to the area and a new sense of community to an expanding business district on El Cajon Boulevard<\/a>. <\/p>\n
