A Quick Solution for Stalled Redevelopment Properties
KPBS took a look this week at a plan by local architecture students to utilize vacant lots where redevelopment plans have stalled. The NewSchool of Architecture students designed a temporary park that could be moved when permanent projects move forward. They’d simply lease the land from the city, assemble the space and disassemble it when the lease ends.

SDPD Debuts Low Rider to Strengthen Community Outreach
KPBS also brought us video of Police Chief William Lansdowne in a low rider tricked out with hydraulics. The car, a revamped police cruiser, is part of an effort to improve rapport in predominantly Latino communities.

City Council Eases Graywater Rules
City Council voted this week to amend its rules on graywater use, according to KPBS. It’s now easier to get permits and construct systems that allow residents to use laundry and shower water to water their lawns.
