Youth filmmakers in the Media Arts Center’s Teen Producers Project create a short documentary on urban waste and the impact it has on the ocean and wildlife. This video includes an informative interviews with students and teachers at Hoover High School, as well as, staff at Ocean Discovery Institute and San Diego Coastkeeper.
Combating waste and discarded trash is an issue at many schools across our nation. Students at Hoover High School are working to educate the student body about the implications of this behavior and strategies to alleviate the harmful effects of waste.
Students from Hoover High School in City Heights participated in a program to produce a photo essay/blog and two types of broadcast news stories. Presented by Media Arts Center San Diego, The Aja Project and KPBS, these students undertook a 12 week program that centered on civic minded storytelling through different media.
