Speak City Heights Partners With El Latino to Provide Spanish-Language Content

By Megan Burks

Speak City Heights has partnered with El Latino-San Diego to provide its readers with more Spanish-language content and expand the reach of stories coming out of City Heights.

El Latino will feature City Heights stories produced by El Latino and Speak City Heights reporters in its pages and on its website. El Latino comes out on Fridays and is available for free at newstands throughout the county.

Speak City Heights readers can now find an Español tab at the top of our homepage for all of our translated articles.

El Latino is the largest Hispanic newspaper in San Diego County and the largest Hispanic-owned, Spanish-language publication in California. It is a national, state and local award-winning publication with a monthly readership of more than 910,000. Fanny Miller, CEO and president of El Latino, founded the publication 24 years ago and continues to deliver a product the community needs and asks for. El Latino-San Diego strives to fill a lack of information relating to issues within the Latino community.

“We not only cover the market, we are the market,” Miller said.

Speak City Heights serves the diverse community of City Heights, which is more than 50 percent Latino. We are a media collaborative comprised of KPBS, Voice of San Diego, Media Arts Center San Diego, The AjA Project, and now, El Latino. We are funded by The California Endowment. Our community partner is the Mid-City Community Advocacy Network.
