The first Mural Walk invited people to view mural art highlighting the beauty and diversity of City Heights artists, residents and businesses. Business owner Tysheen Mosley of Sunset Kava says the murals bring creativity, community and beauty.
Artists looking for opportunities to bring something good into the community found business owners that welcomed their creativity.
Carlos Quezada, founder of Love City Heights, started the Avenue Mural Project to create an inclusive, vibrant arts and culture destination that represents everyone. Their Mural Walk started at the Treasure Trove where visitors could pick up a map and chat with Organizer Taylor McDonald. The walk included murals on University Avenue, between the 805 and 15 freeways, in City Heights.
