“City of Diversity and Hope” is what Said Abiyow, president of the Somail Bantu Association, calls this annual fundraiser. The festival is more widely known as RAJA!, a word which means “hope” in Somali.
Their goal for the RAJA! festival is to raise funds for the many services and education programs they provide through their Training Center for the approximately 30,000 Somail refugees now living in San Diego, CA.
This event showcases Somali food, fashion, arts & crafts, music, performers, activities and fun for the whole family.
