In the second video of an eight part series on teens and safety in City Heights, Crawford High School students discuss the time of day they feel most safe in City Heights.
An analysis by Speak City Heights partner Voice of San Diego found that “daytime” might not be the easy answer. Reporter Keegan Kyle says San Diego youth are more likely to be victims of violent crime during the afternoon.
The teens below also noted that they’re more likely to get into a confrontation or be followed during the day. At night, the teens said they worry about gang violence and running into police officers, who they said don’t trust.
