Officer Henwood served with the police department’s mid city division. It includes the neighborhood of City Heights, where Henwood was gunned down last weekend.
Gabriel Davis has volunteered in City Heights for about four years, including working with police on neighborhood curfew sweeps. He said the officers he knows choose to be in City Heights.
“They choose to work this beat because they know how much the people care and love this community,” he said.
And Davis said the officers have made an effort to become more involved in the neighborhood.
